There is a word going about, 달마루, dalmaru: moonlight settling on the wooden floor of a house, or else the high point of the sky where the moon hangs.
First the honest part. It is not in the dictionary. It was not handed down from anywhere. Somebody made it, and fairly recently.
Made it well, though. 마루, maru, does two jobs in Korean. It is the wooden floor you sit and lie on. It is also the highest part of a thing — 산마루 is the ridge of a mountain, 고갯마루 the top of a pass. So a dalmaru is both the place the moon comes to rest and the place it climbs to.
A language is not only the part that was inherited. Some of it is still being made.
Turn the light off tonight before you sleep. If the moon gets in across the floor, that patch of it is a dalmaru.
